John was the keynote speaker at The Chaikin Oration, organised by the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) on 25 February 2021. He spoke on the challenges of the looming global food crisis, both technical and political, and how Australia should respond and is already responding.

The Hon John Anderson AO, former Deputy Prime Minister, is also a Fellow of the ATSE.
