Making Sense of Suffering
Published 22 Apr 2020, Vishal Mangalwadi, in The Revelation Movement
Vishal Mangalwadi compares two ways of understanding suffering. Buddhists believe suffering is inevitable, so the only solution is to transcend it. Meanwhile, Christianity teaches that we are not made to suffer but to enjoy eternity with God. The Buddhist response taught people to avoid attachment, whereas Christianity cultivated the 'compassion-with-commitment' worldview which was responsible for modern medicine.
